Libra is definitely a partnership-oriented sign. A Libra without someone to love is a most unhappy human being. To whom should a Libra look for love?
Classical astrology would immediately tell a Libra to search for an Aries, Leo, Sagittarius, Aquarius, or Gemini. Add a compatible Virgo or Scorpio, and you’ve got a very wide range of possibilities. Let’s take a closer look at these pairings to see which ones really work.
Those Fire Sign folks, Aries, Leo or Sagittarius, are the ones most often recommended by astrologers, since a fire needs air to breathe and a Libra supplies just that, in bundles.
Libra and Aries love match
Aries, however, can present a problem in that both of these folks want to be the leader in any partnership. Their love-making may also be fiery, but if they have the same career -watch out! There aren’t going to be enough titles and advances in the corporate world for them both to be satisfied. And Aries is bossy – the Libra is going to have to “˜grin and bear it’ many times if the partnership lasts. If a Libra truly doesn’t mind being told everything from their best hairstyle to the correct way to crack an egg, then this couple might stay together. But the Libra needs to be further warned that the Aries can also be terribly sloppy – hanging a shirt on a doorknob is progress, not terminal untidiness. Usually, that shirt or blouse winds up on the floor, along with three pairs of shoes, a comb, jewelry, and anything else discarded in the Aries’ constant rush to get somewhere.
Libra and Leo love match
A Leo might be better for a Libra, in that the “˜king or queen of the zodiac’ truly wants someone who’s very special – and of course, the Libra already qualifies as just that, because how could a Leo even be interested in someone otherwise? The Lion could no more imagine pursuing someone who wasn’t clever, stylish, great-looking, and upwardly mobile than he or she could fly upside down. Royalty always needs a mate to admire (and to lavish gifts on) and to have that mate look up to him or her in return. Libra soon learns that a few compliments – the more effusive, the better- will have Leo purring like a large kitten and just as playful. Both of them enjoy getting dressed up and going out to a nice restaurant or to a party, planning a get-away vacation in the future, and being together as much as their careers permit. This could be a good match, with the chances of a golden wedding anniversary on the horizon.
Libra and Sagittarius love match
Sagittarius has more of a “best buddy’ attitude towards love, love-making, and a permanent relationship. This person wants someone to play with, to go hunting, camping, fishing, and to do things on the spur of the moment. This may not mesh too well with the Libra’s idea of what a great relationship is – not to mention those squiggly worms and smelly fish or cold nights stuck in a tent somewhere on the side of a mountain. Libra likes to have things neat and tidy, carefully aligned, and working smoothly – and Sagittarius really doesn’t bother with such details. A Centaur doesn’t relish having to struggle into fancy clothes and accompany the Libra on a career-enhancing social event – but once in love – who knows? They’ll both have to devote time to the partnership and also decide on the money issues very early on. If they can compromise, with Sagittarius being willing to help Libra do some career social climbing on occasion, and Libra can stand having the hair-shedding shaggy companion animal in the house, this match could work.
Libra and Aquarius love match
If the Libra in question is a more independent type, then an Aquarius could be an excellent match. Particularly for someone who’s career-driven, an inventor/philosopher/thinker, like most Aquarians, won’t be demanding or intrusive. Of course, the Libra may come home to a dark house with no dinner ready or even brought home from the grocery store – because the Aquarian was trying to solve the “˜space-continuum thing.’ Remember, no one said it was going to be easy to be involved with the next Einstein or Von Braun. They’ll have to work together to get the mundane things done, like kids taken to school or the car repaired, but they do truly enjoy their lengthy discussions and intellectual debates. They can be best friends who discover they love each other and marry at some future point.
Libra and Gemini love match
A Gemini-Libra match can really be a wild card. The only people who can predict the success or failure of this relationship are the two involved – and that may be on a day-to-day basis, given Gemini’s need for change and variety. They like to talk a lot, and they can achieve an intellectual, physical bonding – but neither one may feel a genuine depth of emotion in this partnership. Most likely, there’s too much ‘”‘air’ in this pairing for it to be last. It’s very hard for a Gemini to commit to one person – or career, or even a consistent way of looking at things. Libra likes to consider all the angles, but he or she still has a core of unchanging beliefs and opinions.
Finally, conventional astrology would never consider either a Virgo or Scorpio to be a compatible match for Libra. However, given that neighboring signs often share some of the same planetary positions, these matches aren’t unreasonable. Chances are, if a Virgo and a Libra are attracted to each other, they may share the same sign for Mercury, the planet of communication. Venus, the planet of love, could be in the same sign for both of them, in which case their friendship would warm into something much deeper and more passionate.
The same zodiac rule holds true for a Libra-Scorpio pairing. (With the outer planets taking so many years to complete their orbits around the Sun, people who are born within three to seven years of each other usually share the same planetary positions for Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. This is why these planets are called the “generational’ planets: most people of one generation will have the three slower-moving planets in the same signs.)
