Okay, so picture this: I'm at a comic-con, elbowing my way through a crowd of people dressed as, like, seven different versions of Spider-Man. Suddenly, I hear a kid behind me practically vibrating with excitement, yelling, "Big Hero 6! Big Hero 6! Est-ce qu'il y aura une suite un jour?!" And honestly, that made me think: is there any news on a potential second movie?
We all remember Les Nouveaux Héros (or Big Hero 6 for you Anglophones). That adorable, tear-jerking, action-packed animated gem from Disney. Hiro Hamada and Baymax became instant classics. But, like, years have passed. So what's the deal? Where's the Big Hero 6 sequel? Or, in true French style, Les Nouveaux Héros 2?

Disney has been pretty tight-lipped about it. Which, let’s be honest, is their usual MO. They love a good surprise announcement, don't they? C'est leur truc. Think of all the Marvel projects they kept secret... until BAM! Trailer drops and everyone loses their minds.
However, don't despair, mes amis! While a full-blown theatrical sequel seems unlikely at this point (sad, I know), the Big Hero 6 universe isn't exactly dead.
Ce Qui Existe Déjà: Big Hero 6: The Series
We do have the Big Hero 6: The Series. Did you know about it? It's a continuation of the story, picking up where the movie left off. It ran for three seasons and gave us more of Hiro and the gang's adventures in San Fransokyo. Plus, more Baymax! (Who doesn’t love Baymax? Seriously?)
The series is fun, it’s cute, and it fills that Big Hero 6 void in your heart... somewhat. But it's not quite the same as a big-budget, theatrical experience, is it? On est d'accord.
Théories et Espoirs (et un Peu de Pessimisme)
The internet is, of course, overflowing with fan theories about a potential Les Nouveaux Héros 2. Some are wild, some are plausible, and most are probably just wishful thinking. People are pointing to clues in the series, hinting at future storylines, and even speculating about new characters.
But honestly? Given the time that's passed, and the direction Disney seems to be taking with its animated properties (lots of sequels, yes, but often to their biggest hits), I wouldn't hold my breath. A big factor is probably also the commercial success: while Big Hero 6 was a hit, it wasn't a Frozen level mega-hit that practically demands a sequel.
That said, never say never! The world of animation is full of surprises. Perhaps Disney will revisit San Fransokyo in the future. We can always hope! In the meantime, we can re-watch Les Nouveaux Héros a million times, catch up on the series, and dream of what could be. And hey, maybe, just maybe, someone at Disney is reading this and thinking, "Hmm, maybe we should make a sequel..." Un peu d'espoir ne fait jamais de mal!
